Job Title: Senior Pre-Sales Engineer – Application Development and Consulting Solutions

As a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving our consulting solutions by providing pre-sales engineering, solution design, and implementation oversight for client engagements. Your expertise will guide our clients in solving complex problems and ensuring successful implementation of our services.
Summary:
Under limited direction, you will provide pre-sales engineering, solution design, and implementation oversight for Consulting Solutions client engagements. This role is ideal for a technical expert with recent hands-on coding experience, a strong focus on presales, and a deep understanding of application development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Serve as the highest level of technical expertise within the firm, advising clients on solving complex problems and providing thought leadership.
- Sales Alignment: Collaborate with Sales and internal teams to create client sales and development strategies. Attend account/sales pipeline reviews and serve as the primary contact for project and opportunity-related activities.
- Client Engagement: Develop sales collateral, including PowerPoint decks, SOWs, pricing, technical scope, implementation plans, timelines, risks, issues, case studies, and best practices.
- Post-Sale Collaboration: Provide oversight during the implementation of services, ensuring team orientation, performance management, SLA compliance, service metrics, quality control, security compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Escalation Point: Act as a point of escalation for resolving complex client issues related to service delivery commitments.
- Practice Development: Adhere to departmental playbooks, monitor practice metrics, and participate in quarterly business reviews (QBRs). Identify and recommend improvements for productivity and scalability.
- Consultant Management: Support the administration, networking, relationship management, and coaching of key consultants in the Principal Consultant Program.
- Branding and Marketing: Partner with Practice Leaders to write and post original content, attend events, and develop case studies and project successes.
- Hiring and Screening: Create personas, screen candidates, and make hiring decisions for billable consultants delivering solutions to clients.
- Industry Expertise: Maintain current knowledge of trends and best practices in relevant technical, functional, and industry areas.
Application Development Skills:
- Technical Accountability: Ability to hold developers accountable and design technical roadmaps aligned with modernization goals.
- Solution Design: Partner with internal stakeholders to design technical solutions focused on accountability, technical design, cost, and viability.
- Quality Measurement: Routinely measure and report on quality using data-driven approaches.
- Versatility: Ability to pivot across different areas within application engineering and design solutions focused on resiliency and past successes.
- Simplified Communication: Communicate complex ideas in a simplified manner to stakeholders.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in solution design, web frameworks, service-oriented architecture/web services (REST/SOAP), web technologies (MERN stack/JavaScript), markup languages (XML/JSON), OOP concepts, software design and architecture (microservices), coding standards, best practices, unit tests, automation, and code reviews.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of experience in professional services (systems integrators, management consulting, software).
- Consulting Experience: Experience in facilitating and managing complex business modernization or digital transformation projects.
- Technical Expertise: Proven ability to read and write code, create reference architectures, and demonstrate proficiency across the enterprise technology ecosystem.
- Industry Experience: Team or lead experience in one of Help4Access’s primary practice areas and established experience in at least one industry vertical.
