We are seeking a skilled Production Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in both Oracle and SQL Server, as well as advanced AI capabilities, to ensure the performance, availability, and security of our clients’ critical databases for large-scale Microsoft Access migration projects.
Job Overview:
As a Production DBA at Help4Access, you will manage the maintenance, performance, and security of Oracle and SQL Server databases, integrating AI tools like OpenAI’s Operator, Gumloop.com, xAI’s Grok, Perplexity, and NotebookLM for backward engineering and optimization in large-scale Microsoft Access modernization projects. You’ll collaborate with our development and operations teams in a consultancy environment, ensuring robust, scalable database environments meet the demands of enterprise clients. This role requires strong team collaboration skills to work on large migration projects, focusing on team-oriented solutions for complex database systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Administer, maintain, and support Oracle and SQL Server databases in production environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security, enhanced by AI-driven insights from OpenAI’s Operator and xAI’s Grok for large Microsoft Access migrations.
- Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize SQL queries, and tune database instances for maximum efficiency, leveraging AI tools like Gumloop.com and Perplexity in a team-oriented consultancy setting.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop, implement, and manage database backup and recovery strategies, using AI analytics from NotebookLM to protect against data loss and ensure business continuity for large-scale projects.
- Database Security: Implement and enforce database security policies, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing, integrating AI tools for enhanced security in team-driven Microsoft Access migrations.
- Monitoring and Alerts: Set up and manage database monitoring tools, enhanced by AI insights, to detect and respond to potential issues before they impact production systems in large consultancy projects.
- Patch Management: Apply patches and updates to Oracle and SQL Server databases, ensuring security and performance for large-scale migrations, supported by AI-driven automation tools.
- Capacity Planning: Monitor database storage and performance trends, using AI tools like Perplexity to plan and implement capacity upgrades and optimizations for team-oriented enterprise projects.
- Database Migrations: Lead database migrations, upgrades, and consolidations for large Microsoft Access projects, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity, collaborating with teams in a consultancy environment.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex database issues, including those related to replication, clustering, and high availability, using AI tools for precision in team settings.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and recovery plans, integrated with AI insights for large-scale Microsoft Access migrations in a consultancy team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT teams in a consultancy environment, focusing on large-scale Microsoft Access projects requiring team collaboration and AI expertise.
Requirements:
- Database Administration Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Production DBA managing both Oracle and SQL Server databases in enterprise environments, with a focus on large-scale migration projects in a consultancy or team setting.
- Oracle Expertise: Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and performance tuning tools like AWR and ASH, applied in team-oriented consultancy projects.
- SQL Server Expertise: In-depth experience with SQL Server, including knowledge of Always On Availability Groups, replication, SSIS, SSRS, and performance tuning, supporting large Microsoft Access migrations in teams.
- Backup and Recovery: Proficiency in implementing and managing backup and recovery strategies using RMAN (Oracle) and native SQL Server tools, enhanced by AI for large-scale projects in a consultancy environment.
- Security and Compliance: Experience with database security best practices, including user management, encryption, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), integrated with AI tools in team settings.
- Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages such as PL/SQL, T-SQL, PowerShell, and Shell scripting for automation and maintenance tasks, applied in large team projects.
- Performance Tuning: Hands-on experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques, using AI tools like OpenAI’s Operator in consultancy teams.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in large Microsoft Access projects, collaborating effectively in teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a consultancy environment on large-scale migrations.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate are a plus, with experience in consultancy and team-based large projects.
