Help4Access, a provider of world class database application development services, successfully provides enhanced Order Management business functionality to Historical Emporium.
Historical Emporium is a successful ecommerce company that provides authentic historical clothing and accessories. Headquartered in San Jose, California, Historical Emporium operates several virtual storefronts catering to the needs of clients searching for historically accurate apparel for different periods in history. In order to better manage their online order fulfillment, obtain better management reports, and expand the functionality of their existing legacy order management tool, Historical Emporium undertook a project to accomplish these goals.
Historical Emporium entrusted Help4Access to assist with this project. The goal was to extend the functionality available through the existing legacy application in order to keep up with the needs of the business rather than incurring the high cost of replacing the legacy application.
According to Sasha Froyland, Help4Access Founder and CEO, “Historical Emporium had, like many companies, reached a point where their existing system was no longer able to support their data capture and reporting needs or provide any of the new functionality required. Microsoft Access, which is the fastest prototyping tool in the world, provided the perfect platform to build custom data functionality rapidly and at a fraction of the price than replacing the legacy application.”
Help4Access’s engineering team dove right in to understand the high level business requirements and design the right solution to meet Historical Emporium’s needs. By leveraging Microsoft Access, the team quickly turned the high-level business requirements and design into a high quality, custom solution that integrated with the legacy system, extended the standard functionality of that system, and enabled better management and analytical reporting.
“We utilized all our core competencies in order to provide Historical Emporium with this critical functionality.” added Sasha. “Our business analysts worked tightly with the Historical Emporium team to deliver an outstanding solution customized to their unique requirements. ”
The Help4Access team developed a Microsoft Access solution that extended the business functionality of Historical Emporium’s legacy Customer Order Management package and developed additional custom modules outside the legacy application. These independent modules give the business deeper penetration into the critical functions of order management, product management, costing (actual and forecasted), digital asset management and analytical reporting. This functionality better positions Historical Emporium’s management team to make solid data-based business decisions going forward.
Sasha added “For small businesses and ecommerce companies, custom-built solutions using MS Access 2010 are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing large, complex applications. Custom software solutions developed by Help4Access on the Microsoft Access platform have the perfect balance of performance, low cost and low risk. This allows businesses to invest in the technology they need without having to purchase a large package that requires them to pay for functionality they don’t.”
