Help4Access, a provider of highly affordable, database-driven business applications and services, successfully develops custom Case Management system for Panish Shea & Boyle LLP.

Panish Shea & Boyle LLP, a personal injury law firm located in Los Angeles, California focuses on championing the rights of those injured in or damaged by auto accidents, plane crashes, dangerous products, business fraud, and dangerous drugs.  In order to track the status of lawsuits, capture and report on client information, and manage their extensive caseload, Panish, Shea & Boyle LLP was using a range of disconnected technology solutions including hundreds of individual Microsoft Excel spreadsheets that required significant manual effort to maintain.  In order to improve back-end data quality, decrease manual effort, and provide a better way to view and track status, Panish, Shea & Boyle LLP needed a comprehensive data-driven application.

Panish, Shea & Boyle LLP turned to Help4Access to build a custom case management system that safeguarded data quality, enhanced reporting capabilities, and decreased the time and cost associated with data maintenance.

According to Sasha Froyland, Help4Access Founder and CEO, “Panish, Shea & Boyle was operating with a disconnected data environment. Like many companies, they reached a point where their existing tools were unable to support their evolving business requirements. Microsoft Access was a great fit for the project because it is the fastest prototyping tool in the world and enabled the rapid build-out of a custom database application that met their specific requirements at a fraction of the price of other enterprise level solutions.”

Help4Access’s engineering team got to work and quickly turned the firm’s high-level business requirements into a high-quality, custom-built case management system.

“We leveraged all our core competencies in our effort to complete this critical project for Panish, Shea & Boyle” Froyland said. “Our business analysts worked tightly with the firm’s representatives to understand and address the business needs and detailed requirements.  Our engineering team delivered a unique, solid system customized to those requirements. ”

The Help4Access team used an Access database to build the core of the new system, enabling all 50 lawyers at the firm to access, capture, track, and report on the data needed to manage their caseloads.  By consolidating the data previously contained in hundreds of spreadsheets into a single relational database accessible through the new application, Help4Access enabled better tracking of case status and increased accessibility to reports.

According to Froyland, “Custom-built solutions using MS Access 2010 are cost-effective alternatives for professional service firms like Panish, Shea & Boyle.

“Custom software solutions developed by Help4Access on the Microsoft Access platform have the perfect balance of performance, low cost and low risk that provide stability while delivering a very high rate of return,” he added.

The Case Management system delivered by Help4Access increased back office data quality and decreased the amount of time spent on maintaining and communicating data updates.  The new system also reduced the firm’s paper usage by 60 percent, representing a significant cost savings for the firm (and the planet)!
